Hi! You're very Welcome.
Hi! Lisa here... I am The Imperfect Sojourner!
Welcome to my table; pull up a chair, pour a cuppa, break some bread and find love and acceptance right where you are now and encouragement for where you are headed on your journey through this life.
A little background:
I am a follower of Jesus. I believe as The Scriptures say; that we are in a fallen reality now but that His Plan is for the restoration of the earth under His Leadership. Therefore, I use the word sojourner because it means a temporary stay or a person passing through. This place is for fellow sojourners who want to live this life in light of that reality.
How we sojourn is important. For the Christ follower we are to be made in to His likeness. I have concluded that above all our other achievements this is key - though our 'doing' is important... our 'being' and the place from which we do is the critical backbone. You can do all the right things and still miss it! The pharisees are a good example of this!
He wants us to know His heart and His Plans and to become in His likeness!
However, possibly like many of you, I have struggled to become all He has for me in this regard due to not feeling worthy to receive at a deeply personal level; unable to deal with my own flaws... not getting freedom right to the core of who I am because I was hiding! Most of the time we don't notice that this is our reality but the more we immerse ourselves in His Word and the closer we draw to the heart of The Father and get in vulnerable trusting accountable relationships with others who seek Him deeply, we begin to see ourselves as in a mirror and we are forced to either run and hide or to face all that shows up and let Him get to work!
I had a wake up call that has lasted over a season through which I've wrestled and I am coming to realize that I'm loved right now even in my mess... that I'll never be perfect nor always get it right but I can see true growth when I determine to allow myself to receive the grace that He so freely gives me and to set the posture of my heart on getting back up and going hard after Him every time.
It's about becoming more and more like him and letting myself be truly seen by Him even as I wrestle through my imperfections.
I will be sharing honestly over some posts here and I hope you too will find the freedom to learn along with me how to receive His Love, how to grow to give ourselves love and how to become love for others... that is an unstoppable and powerful force!
I hope in the comments and discussions to take wisdom from old friends and new friends made along the way as we sojourn together, so please join in as you feel to; share your struggles, your wins and your experiences!
